Resyn

Resyn is a marketplace focused on musicians who want to buy, sell, and trade their instruments and gear. Unlike existing platforms, which often charge high fees or don’t support trading, Resyn provides a dedicated space for musicians to connect directly, negotiate deals, and swap gear seamlessly.

My Role

As the Product Designer on Resyn, I was responsible for bringing the concept from 0 to 1—designing both desktop and mobile experiences while ensuring usability, business viability, and brand alignment.

User Research

I conducted research sessions with musicians to uncover their needs, frustrations, and expectations when buying, selling, and trading gear. These insights helped shape features that emphasized trust, seamless negotiations, and low fees.

Strategy

I defined the user experience from 0 to 1, establishing a trade-first marketplace model. By balancing usability and business goals, I ensured that Resyn met the needs of musicians while remaining scalable.

Product Design

I designed and iterated on the full platform, including wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs for desktop and mobile. I collaborated closely with stakeholders to refine the experience through continuous feedback.

Collaboration

I worked closely with product managers, developers, and marketing teams to ensure seamless integration of brand identity, design consistency, and user needs across all touchpoints.

Testing & QA

I facilitated usability testing with real musicians, collecting feedback to refine features and improve workflows. I also conducted design QA to maintain fidelity between the final designs and the live product.

Engagement

I led weekly demos, presenting design progress and key decisions to stakeholders. I iterated on the platform based on their feedback, ensuring alignment between business objectives and user experience.
The Challenge

Creating a trusted and affordable Marketplace for Musicians

Musicians frequently buy, sell, and trade gear, but existing online marketplaces present significant barriers. Many platforms charge high transaction fees, lack trade functionality, or fail to create a trusted environment for peer-to-peer transactions.

Without a dedicated space tailored to musicians, sellers are forced to use general marketplaces where listing instruments is cumbersome, negotiations are inefficient, and high fees eat into their profits.

Our challenge was to design Resyn, a musician-first marketplace that would:

  • Eliminate excessive fees to make selling more profitable.
  • Introduce seamless trade functionality as a core feature.
  • Foster a safe and trusted community for buying, selling, and swapping gear.

By solving these pain points, Resyn aimed to create a platform musicians could rely on—one that put their needs first and made gear exchanges more accessible than ever.
